Content Creator - Mental Health (Kickstart Scheme Role)

Join RoguePsych as a Content Creator, and turn your creativity into educational content that supports young minds.

The Role:

You will be creating Mental Health content for our upcoming series of mental health workshops, Braincamp. This will include research into mental health and the latest Psychology and Neuroscience breakthroughs, creating useful visuals and infographics to showcase this information for our service users.

You will be able to join in mental health workshops and interact with our service users in a supported capacity.

  • Kickstart Scheme role (Open to 16 – 25 year olds eligible for Universal Credit only)
  • Starts March 2022
  • Salary: £4.62 – £8.91/hr
  • 25 hours per week, Monday – Thursday
  • 2 days in Manchester office, 2 days WFH (Hybrid)

Essential skills

✓ Strong written and verbal communication skills –You will be creating visual and written high-quality content to communicate mental health information, and attend both internal meetings and mental health workshops alongside the team.

✓ Digital literacy –A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom is essential.

✓ Passionate about mental health – We are making a difference to the mental health of 18 – 25 year olds. You must sincerely care about empowering the people we help, and begin with our service users in mind. Prior lived experience welcome.

✓ Strong research skills – You should be able to gather data, think critically, and present data in an informative and easy-to-understand way.

✓ Curious and eager to learn – It’s not about what you know at the beginning: it’s about where you want to go. We want someone who can learn fast with a can-do attitude. We are happy to support you in upskilling and gaining experience in the digital mental health sector.

Desirable skills

✓ Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Mental Health Nursing, or other relevant Health degree – A working knowledge of Psychology, and the ability to parse Psychology research papers in a thorough and analytical way, is desirable. Creative degrees incl. Writing, Filmography, and Graphic Design also welcome.

✓ Comfortable adapting to new technologies – Previous commercial usage of Canva, Instagram/TikTok/Facebook/LinkedIn, and WordPress is a huge plus, though this will be upskilled within the job.

✓ Experience working/volunteering with those with mental health issues – Either voluntary, paid, or in a personal carer role.

✓ Able to adapt and grow – The world we live in is constantly changing, and we always seek to improve our working methodology based upon service user feedback accordingly. A “How about this?” rather than a “We’ve always done it this way.” mindset is ideal.

✓ Previous content creation experience – Whether you have previously made a podcast, edited videos, written articles, made art, or designed events – we want to hear about it!
